A Song To The Akal Takhat
A Song to the Akal Takhat: The Undying Throne
SS Guru Shabd Singh Khalsa, Eugene OR, USA

By the hand of Guru Hargobind,
In the spirit of his might,
By His Will a shrine was founded,
To end our fateful plight.
For to rid ourselves of darkness,
We must judge ourselves in Light,
In the court of Truth we settle, What is wrong and right.

Akal - undying, through space and time,
In our longing hearts forever, in our souls you shine.
In the end we’ll meet you, in the Truth we’ll find,
That the end is the beginning of deathless Light.

It will house our strength and honor,
Assure us of our right,
To be one with God and Guru,
To serve them in His Light.
And to those who seek its wisdom,
And come before its doors,
They will find their strength and honor,
And death will be no more.

Stricken down by cannons, pummeled to the ground,
In the fiery dust and ashes, blood was all around.
And the timeless flame of Joti Jot,
Vanished from all sight,
From within the Harimandir, fate was set that night.

We must right the wrongs of history,
And resurrect today,
With our kindness and our purity,
To guide us on our way.
Then the death that haunts our days,
Shall never come again,
We rise from all the ashes, His Truth will never end.

Akal - undying, through space and time,
In our longing hearts forever, in our souls you shine.
In the end we’ll meet you, in the Truth we’ll find,
That the end is the beginning of deathless Light.
