Tithing From The Mormon Perspective
Tithing from the Mormon Perspective
Bill McBrearty, MBA, CPA CLU

Mormons believe that in our lives, we are in partnership with God, and we put in our time and meager talents which God has blessed us with, and He does everything else. All God asks for is one tenth of our income to be used to build His Kingdom. We believe that if we freely and cheerfully pay an honest tithe, God will open up the heavens and shower blessings!

As Mormons, we think of tithing as a principal of obedience rather than a principal of giving to charity. Tithing strengthens the person or family who lives by this principal.
