The Sikh Mission
M.S.S. S.Guru Amrit Kaur Khalsa

Secretary General of Sikh Dharma

East and west, north and south, the Guru’s mission is unfolding and the spirit is growing. Our identity as Khalsa has been tested between the years 1984 - 1994 as it has been tested in the centuries before. Our tradition and spirit as Sikhs arose from the oppression of the times and we know as we enter the cusp of the new Millennium, humanity faces multiple challenges for which the Shabd Guru will be an anchor to help build human spirituality and provide a source of inspiration and values during these changing times.

Humanity made an inconceivable change from the Dark Ages to the Renaissance. We who live today, live at the cusp period for humanity. It is also inconceivable to many of us today, but we feel and see the change undeniably happening. Spirituality, human rights and ethics are affecting the changing role of women, men, and children around the world and the impact of change in one nation now impacts upon other nations. Humanity is becoming global in its awareness. We want to make a difference. We were born during this time to make that difference. Preserving our unique traditions, cultures, religions and individuality; humanity now has the responsibility to allow the differences and to create a world balance that can carry us all into the new century in peace. Religion has the role and responsibility to serve our collective spirit to bring this peace through prayer and service to those in need.

We have a message as Sikhs to give to the world. It is a simple message: live in the spirit and serve humanity and the spirit of the times. The lives of our Guru’s gave us this perspective, tradition, and technology. Now is the time to rekindle your own spirit and reach out to serve others in need.
