The Magic Mantra for Prosperity: THANK YOU
Gururattan Kaur Khalsa, Ph.D.

Most secrets are not secret. It is just that we have to discover them for ourselves to integrate them in our own consciousness. We have to live by them to activate them in our human life. The attitude of gratitude and the mantra THANK YOU fall in to this category of secrets.

COMPLAINING SYNDROME
Complaining is a pastime that we need to understand and a habit we need to change if we want to be happy and prosperous. It includes all varieties of whining, negativity and repetitious destructive thoughts. The basic problem with complaining is that it disconnects us from the universal flow of love and prosperity.

The human mind is made up of the negative mind, the positive mind and the neutral mind. The negative mind warns us and protects us with vital information. The positive mind computes the advantages and expands our outlook. The neutral mind is the referee. Better to know if a car is coming first (negative mind) before thinking about the pastry shop (positive mind) across the street. It takes all pertinent information and makes a decision - yes or no.

When we understand how the mind works, we can understand that our first reaction will naturally be from the negative mind. However, to use the negative mind to recycle warnings results in endless complaints. Complaining is a bad habit we can train ourselves to break. The solution is not to reside only in the positive mind either. We can’t stay perpetually in the positive mind. We weren’t made that way. Positive will always balance itself out by swinging to negative. The solution resides in the neutral mind, which is the vantage point for evaluation and the lighthouse for understanding.

GRATITUDE AND THE NEUTRAL MIND
At first glance it would seem gratitude resides in the positive mind, but gratitude is more naturally at home in the neutral mind. The gratitude we feel delivers us to the neutral mind and to the heart. How do we know? There is no discussion in the neutral mind and in the heart. Discussion and conversation is natural for the negative-positive mind interaction, but gratitude is the result of a higher perspective that reveals the truth about what is happening - this is neutral mind material. Sometimes when we are bothered by something, we have to go through the negative-positive mind phase to get to the neutral mind.

ATTITUDE SHIFT
There is a difference between the neutral mind resolution and the think-positive attempts to get out of a negative funk. Trying to convince ourselves that we are not so badly off by comparing our situation to a more difficult situation does not address the issue at hand that we must deal with. Persuasion is a form of control and our mind resists this type of manipulation. Whatever our circumstance, we are in it to learn something and then to move on. It is the understanding of the real meaning of a situation that activates and maintains the neutral mind and our ability to progress. Gratitude then becomes an attitude and a touchstone for living. We can shift from trying to activate a sense of gratitude in distress, to making gratitude a modus operandi for daily living.

RELATIONSHIP SHIFT
Gratitude establishes a relationship with ourselves. We have to appreciate who we are and what we already have, to expand, change and transform. The deeper our connection with our soul identity, the more powerful our appreciation of who we really are. The more we value what we have created, the more we distance ourselves from the complaining syndrome and the negative-positive conflict. The concept of value can link us to the neutral mind, if we appreciate things, situations, relationships and ourselves exactly the way they are, without judgment and evaluation.

The purpose of gratitude is not to count our blessings. The purpose of gratitude is to connect us to Infinity. The relationship in gratitude is between the Divine and ourselves. The essence of gratitude is not evaluative. The essence of gratitude is neutral and unconditional. Gratitude links us up to the Grace of the Eternal.

THANK YOU MANTRA INSTEAD OF PLEASE
Most of us pray “Please, God, …”. Please separates us from the divine. The mantra of prayer is not Please. The mantra of prayer is Thank You. Thank You activates our connection to the divine. An attitude of gratitude merges our essence with the Divine. We shift from the negative-positive evaluation debate to the neutral space of the heart. We manifest from the heart, not from the head. The divine can work for us in neutrality, not from attachment. THANK YOU releases us from both the head and attachment. THANK YOU neutralizes our stories and reveals to us a higher plan.

Mantras, which obviously vibrate at the frequency of audible sound, are the connecting link between physical and non-physical realities. Thank You acts as a bridge that facilitates manifestation. In this theory the basic mantra for prosperity is THANK YOU. Try shifting your internal mantra to THANK YOU and let us know what happens in your life.
