Lotus Garden: A Villanelle
Lotus Garden: a Villanelle
By: Siri Kirpal Kaur Khalsa
Where the sweetness of Your Nectar flows.
Watering the ground of our souls divine,
The lotus garden blooms and grows.

As every lotus chakra glows,
The kundalini cascades up and down the spine,
Where the sweetness of Your Nectar flows.

The Seed that every saintly gardener sows
Is the ground of our being that is True beyond time.
The lotus garden blooms and grows.

When we are still and the energy flows.
The Infinite is our form and sign,
Where the sweetness of Your Nectar flows.

All emptiness ends; darkness draws to a close
As the lotuses open along the line.
The lotus garden blooms and grows.

We know ourselves to be Divine.
We are Thine! We are Thine! We are Thine! We are Thine!
Where the sweetness of Your Nectar flows,
The lotus garden blooms and grows.

Commentary: Chakra literally means “wheel.” In yogic terms, a chakra is a vortex of energy. We have eight of these, seven located at specific places on the body, mostly around the spine, plus the aura, which is the body’s electro-magnetic field. Chakras are sometimes called lotuses. The kundalini is a coil of energy that normally lies dormant at the base of the spine. When certain secretions (nectar) in the brain are activated, the kundalini rises and the chakras open. When the chakras are open, we become fully realized human beings.
