We are entering the age of Aquarius. It has been very difficult for all of you and even me to understand. I will explain to you. A man as a guide shall not exist. We have to have a mental transformation to understand the word, to understand the knowledge, to understand the concept. What is this Age of Aquarius we are entering? For centuries we have been trying to learn, trying to know to learn, trying to improve a lot. We want to cut our losses, we want to grow, but in this age, which we have entered in '91, knowledge will be available to everybody. Number 1, the computer can make the most foolish person the most wise person, because there will be a qualified intelligence. It shall be at the disposal of every person. So judgment of people on the basis of wisdom will be eliminated. Let's understand the fundamentals. Number 2, all knowledge that is known, or was known, or shall be known will be available to everyone. Number 3, the art of communication between humans will be so vast, that everybody shall know everybody and everything about everybody for all purposes or for no purpose. These are 3 good aspects. Worst of it will be, it will be most difficult to handle it. Individuality shall disappear. In this coming age, it is not that you know me and that's enough, and I know you, and that's enough, and we have a gathering, and that's enough.
Even in a couple of years, sitting at home you will be able to communicate with anybody anywhere, for any purpose at a short notice. What, after all, what will an individual do? The individual shall have no strength, because there shall be no individuality. What we are asking is to meditate, to practice, and to do all that to get rid of the ego. There will be a time when there will be no place for ego. Even if you want an ego, or to create an ego, there'll be no chance. It'll be just opposite of this age. It shall be the age of a sage, where everyone shall be a sage. Even today they are showing that a computer can do a complete surgery, and man goes down through the tube, and comes out the other side in one piece. So we are entering a new age, where we have to learn to acquire our own inner self, the very being. We have a soul, we shall always have a soul, there is no problem. We have a body to maintain the soul for the time being. That is no problem. And that will have a very available service to be maintained. But one thing we don't have: How we will develop our mind toward that information. How we'll handle that mind inside of us. How we'll tolerate the total information, and shall rise above it. That is what Age of Aquarius is all about. In the last 50 years we have been trying to expand our mind with medicine, drugs, herbs, or whatever you want to call it. We have been experimenting. We don't want any discipline and we don't want anything. We want to be we, we, we. Is that what we really want? That's not true. We want to be us, with control of our emotions, feelings, intellect and on our intelligence. And that is our practical approach in the Age of Aquarius.
You have to learn the art of tolerance to the infinite degree. You have to learn the art of communication to the infinite degree. You have to learn the art of instant forgiveness, without a reaction. Show absolutely nothing of yourself except your virtue. Life will be very fast. In this very fast life, man has to understand for himself, for his sake how the age has to be acquired and lived through.
Our thinking, our ideas, our thoughts have become so big, but our mental attitude is working so small that it is painful to even explain. In this world we are acquiring a mental peace. In this world we are acquiring a satisfaction. Satisfaction of what? Satisfaction of individual grace. Human grace has to be respected by the human himself, and by the human at large, and by the humanity in general. That is what we are seeking.
We are seeking a grace, we are seeking a face where we can welcome our divinity. We can welcome with our divinity those who do not have divinity and those who do not deserve divinity. If, in the Age of Aquarius, a man cannot welcome the more condemned man, man has not risen from his beast. If man cannot welcome the most unwanted living thing, man has not considered yet his consciousness is infinite. The power of innocence is more divine than divine itself. And that is what we are going to be. That is what God in His mind, and Guru in His prediction, has said.
These examples which are before you, the ten Gurus, Guru is one who takes you from darkness to light. These are the 10 steps you have to take in your life. And you have to understand, first Guru went and talked and communicated with everybody; that is your first step. Second received; second step is to receive everybody with honor. Angad Guru received everybody with honor. He honored everyone. Third step is that you become everything to everybody and still plus. Fourth brought the royalty and reality together. Fifth gave you as a step a personal conduct of infinite tolerance. The sixth step, the Guru was asked to become servant of the faith and defender of the faith. The real light began. Thereafter you learned from Har Rai, Har means God, Rai means the Lord. He was Lord God by name. I'm not talking something you don't understand. It is said about Guru Har Rai's strength that all birds and animals in the entire vicinity where he roamed knew him better than people. Man had that concept at seventh stage. Eighth took away everybody's disease, healed everybody. These are the steps. You have to study Sikh Dharma in the light and the brightness of those who guided you. Don't worship; work as they worked. Worship their personality as they worshipped their personality. Look at the ninth. He took away the entire burden of the entire nation. He said, "Don't torture anybody. Torture me. If you can change me, all will be changed. If you can't change me, stop. And if you won't stop, you shall not be the rulers of this land." Look how you can go and take care of the enemy.
The Mughal emperors, who were the enemy, asked Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth step of your life, to give them help. He came with 500 best soldiers and saved the righteousness. So under these circumstances you are fortunate. You have not been hand delivered to another man. You have been given to the Shabd Guru, the Word. With the Word is your identity. In the Word is your salaa, which means your radiance, with the Word as your knowledge, with the word as your harmony, your music and vaa, path. You are here joining in spirituality for a reality, for a practice of your spirit and soul. Whereas, you are here to enrich yourself, it is my prayer that your essence will dwell on these words. You may study these words, understand these words, and not adapt these words. Just understand them and feel in you what that can be. Do not proselytize yourself with any religion if you do not understand the reality of it. And do not walk away from anything without knowing the reality of it. It is my prayer that your guidance will be strong and you will be beautiful, bountiful, and blissful.
