Generations and generations and generations more
Were repressed and compressed and rejected.
They were turned away if they approached that door,
Where all who come with devotion, should be accepted.
Where those who give their blood should be respected.
Generations and generations of bigoted minds
Turned from their mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives,
Each confused generation was lead by the blind,
Unable to respect the power in their lives,
Forgetting that Kirpan is what we call our knives.
Like oil on water Guru's Word has spread
Over the shifting axis of the Earth,
But that Sacred place where we bow our heads
Was denied to those who have given us birth,
A blatant insult to our Mother Earth.
Yet Guru's hand, in these Times so strange
Moved with Grace to restore right from wrong.
The moment had arrived to implement a change,
And those mothers who had waited so long,
With their sisters and daughters, joined in song.
A pitched battle was fought there, before the gate,
But it was not waged with bullets and steel,
The mind was the battlefield, at that hour so late,
Lead by a warrior who forced the enemy to yield
So they gave way and withdrew from the field.
That Lion of Consciousness who stood that night
And bravely faced the anger of the fools,
Brought Victory over the Mind by his shining light,
Returning to the Panth Khalsa our jewel,
Which is the Grace by which we shall rule.
It is a different Time and another Age
Now Guru's word shall be on our side
History is now written on a different page
And our Sacred Unity shall be our Pride
