Being Cozy with Your Own Soul
Excerpts 2/11/97

I am talking to you about the essence of the soul - whether it is dormant or active; about the situation of understanding the carbon dioxide or the carbon and the oxygen in the body - how they must be in balance for the sake of the health; and I am also telling you about Prakriti, the universe, and Purkha, the essence of the universe. They are all in you. If you lean on Prakriti more, and you forget Purkha, you create imbalance. There is no reason for any individual to not be prosperous and satisfied, but it's the same thing. Prakriti is creative essence, the essence in every object. It's not an object; every object is a shell of Prakriti. And in that shell, that energy which vibrates, like our impulse, there is an essence, that is Purkha. That's the central point of it, and its balance is very essential.
My mind feels me, my emotions feel me, my sentiments feel me, my desires feel me, my fantasies feel me, I see things, I want those things, I want to compete, compare. I want to be what I want to be. And I don't want to be what I am. And whatever is to come to me will slip by.

If you understand that one line, you can solve the whole life problem. We settle issues. Issues don’t settle us. If we only allow the issues to settle us, and we don't settle the issues, we shall be prosperous, powerful, content, contained and happy. It creates an inner warmth, you feel very warm and cozy; in English it’s called ecstasy.
You have to have that warmth. This is how I can show you by example: suppose you are caught in a snowstorm and you are wet and in a miserable position. All of a sudden you find there is a little house behind the trees. You find that somebody has lived there. So you can change your clothes; you can have fire and you find some food, too. Now you feel very cozy, very warm, very at home: because you are away from death. You know that feeling? That moment of that feeling gives you that coziness if you are with your soul. It’s very easy.
I will give you an exercise [Note: see New Prosperity Technology, page 3] that will take only nine minutes, not a minute more - if you just keep the posture. Posture is a wonderful thing. You have posture about your manners, you have posture about your personality, you have posture about your thoughts, you have posture about your status, everything in your life is a set fine posture. We work first with prana, and then apana; these are the two forces in us which balance our being. Imbalance of these causes disease in us. And this is a very correct, direct personal procedure in which you can totally bring it out. Let the balance be achieved. No issues, just enjoy it: that moment of coziness, that one split second. Become thoughtless. You are beautiful, you are bountiful - bring the universe in you. If you can bring at this time the Prakriti, see how prosperous you are tomorrow. Everybody is entitled to his or her own purity and the privilege to hold balance of tomorrow.
