Letters To The Editor
Dearest Brothers and Sisters in Light,
Yesterday I went to the Post Office to mail our Dasvandh offering and gratefully received an immediate return - 3 envelopes, one from
Prosperity Paths, one from The Science of Keeping Up, and one video from Fund Development. We hurried home to discover what gift was awaiting us. The video is beautiful. It means a lot to us as we’ve always tried to convey the magnitude of 3HO and Sikh Dharma to our students here, but one picture is worth a thousand words... Wahe Guru!!!

Guru Ram Das has been very busy here. We’ve had so many stories of prosperity that I’d like to share a few with you. We were married in Millis in 1984, one ex-hippie type feminist and a Latin healer, with the Guru’s mission in our hearts and about $3,000 in our joint bank account. The Siri Singh Sahib gave us a remarkable wedding hukam: "Go to South America and do what I did in North America."

Nearly twelve years later, we have a beautiful ashram complete with a swimming pool in the mountains just outside Sao Paulo, two 3HO Yoga and Healing Centers in Sao Paulo, three radiant and loving children, a wonderful marriage, and a slowly but steadily growing group of yoga students and Kundalini Yoga teachers. Most importantly, we share the honor of representing the Siri Singh Sahib, Sikh Dharma, and 3HO here, and are continuously showered with miracles. We love receiving Prosperity Paths and The Science of Keeping Up. May your efforts be blessed a million fold.
All Love in Divine,

Dear Prosperity Paths,

Please find enclosed a new photo of me for the Prosperity Altar. I last sent a photo for the Prosperity Altar in the Spring of 1994. I put in writing on the back some information about my family and me and some needs and desires we were praying for; the results were quite positive and I wanted to share them with you.

My husband’s projection was for a challenging, well-paying job with less stress and more fun. The result was that he interviewed and checked out a job in the summer of ‘94, and got a new job in December of 1995 as Risk Manager for Santa Clara Valley Water District.

My son’s projection was to learn more in school, not have disruptive kids in his class, and have more money for computer accessories and software. The result was that he enrolled in some more challenging classes at Santa Cruz High, and then by God’s Grace, ended up going to another high school, on the other side of town, where the disruptive kids that had bothered him at school did not attend. This school is much more accepting of diversity. He has received quite a bit of gift money that he has been able to use for computer software and accessories.

My projection was to be successful at writing and at teaching Kundalini Yoga, and to be healthy. I also projected to go to Solstice in ‘94 and ‘96. The result of all the prayers was that I sold newspaper and magazine articles, had more yoga students, and I am now much healthier. I didn’t make it to Solstice ‘94, but did make it to the IKYTA Conference ‘94 ‘96, Peace Prayer Day, and the Healing Walk in ’94, Solstice ‘96 and KWTC ‘96.

Dear Siblings in Sikh Dharma Development,
As I read the current issue of
Prosperity Paths, which focuses so much on Sikh issues worldwide, I realize my profound ignorance of certain basic vocabulary. What are "parcharics"? What is the "Guru’s Darbar"? What is the "parkarma"? I live in isolation from other Sikhs, but surely other folks who read Prosperity Paths are as curious about these things as I am. Perhaps a glossary could accompany future issues.

Also: my understanding of "Bole so Nihal" is that it literally means "Speak that joy." Why is this phrase forbidden on the premises of the Golden Temple and why would anyone use it as a sort of weapon or curse?

Doubtless I can be a Gursikh without knowing these things, but I (and probably others) would like to know. Thanks.
Love and Blessings,
Siri Kirpal K. Khalsa, Salem, Oregon, USA

Editor's Note:
Thankyou Siri Kirpal Kaur ji.
1 PARCHARIC: teacher of the Guru’s Word
2 GURU’S DARBAR: court of the Guru
3 PARKARMA: walk way around the Golden Temple
4 On the premises of the Golden Temple only Gurbani Kirtan is recited
From Prosperity Paths Issue: July, 1996
