Change
While I sometimes find it surprising to open the calendar page to December (the year having spun around more quickly than it seemed possible!), January always fills me with an air of exuberance. It is change, it is fresh and new, and yet unlike spring, January is still wintry, so I enjoy the opportunity to reflect in relative hibernation on what the new day will bring.

This year it feels like change is more subtle than ever. In the course of our work at the Dasvandh office, we often enjoy speaking with donors and constituents around the world. One sentiment that has been expressed a lot and in many ways, was expressed in this way by a woman in Florida, "You know, it used to be I knew Yogi Bhajan lived in Espanola, with you all there. Now that he has passed, I don't feel like he lives 'there' anymore, I feel like he's right here with me." Yogi Bhajan himself said that when he was gone, he would be much more accessible on the subtle level and I think this is true for everyone.

In a letter recently one woman wrote, "So many of us can tell of how Yogi Bhajan's teachings have influenced our lives. If we wrote a book - it would be too heavy to be lifted!" This is a New Year, and yet here in Espanola we go on as usual. Our job - to spread the teachings of the Siri Singh Sahib (Yogi Bhajan), to share those teachings which so positively influence our lives - has not changed with his passing. Instead, we are committed more than ever to serve and heal, to share these incredible teachings with you.

Please keep up in your Dasvandh contributions. Ask us about our tithing programs. We are here to serve you. Happy New Year!
