Khalsa Council Officers

Office of the Siri Singh Sahib
At this time, we are beginning strategic planning for the combined offices of the Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan, and the Yogi Bhajan Public Relations Office. We are working to establish a YB-SSS PR Office this year. This office will promote Yogi Bhajan as the Master of Kundalini Yoga, as well as establishing Yogi Bhajan and the Siri Singh Sahib as a guest speaker on the international stage. We will be soliciting magazine interviews nationally and internationally, as well as television spots. We are presently producing a Yogi Bhajan brochure.

We are working to change 3HO International’s United Nations status from its current Non-Governmental Organization of the U.N. to receive consultative status with the Economic and Social Council. This must be approved by eighteen countries, and will be reviewed next year.

Since the last session of Khalsa Council, the Siri Singh Sahib has traveled, taught, and counseled constantly. From India to Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, to California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, and Oregon. Europe Tour. Everywhere the Siri Singh Sahib travels he generates a tremendous amount of activity and contacts. This office does the scheduling, organizing, and communications. Correspondence serves as the primary vehicle for the majority of students, friends, and acquaintances to stay connected.

Office of the Bhai Sahiba
(Dharmic Affairs Office)

The Mission of the Bhai Sahiba’s office is to share the Guru’s teachings with humanity. The Bhai Sahiba is working to develop a cross-cultural and inter-religious appreciation of Sikh Dharma, make the wisdom of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib universally available, and maximize the inspiration and participation of all members of Sikh Dharma, including the Ministry, the youth, and the worldwide Indian Sikh community. The Bhai Sahiba continues to travel widely, representing Sikh Dharma in many arenas. She co-convened the Sikh Women’s Conference, out of which came the exciting development and major breakthrough toward allowing women to do seva within the Golden Temple. In March, the Bhai Sahiba, Hari Kaur, and Sat Kirn Kaur Granthi attended the UN Conference on the Status of Women. This was our first experience to be a part of the UN General Assembly. A CD ROM will be produced under the auspice of Harvard University for high school and university level students on "Religious Diversity in America." Sat Kirn Kaur was interviewed as the first woman Granthi.

Office of the Secretary of Religion
(Dharmic Affairs Office)

This office has arranged a series of Ministers Gatherings. Their purpose is to ‘minister to the ministry so that the Ministry can, in turn, minister to the Sadh Sangat.’ The meetings are intended to continue the momentum of the strategic planning process for the Sikh Dharma Ministry and will focus on goals, objectives, and strategies. Dr. Sat-Kaur is presently gathering input to design a formal, two-year training program for Sikh Dharma Ministers, in response to the many requests she has received. Ideas are welcome. This Office continues in its efforts to assist relationships, marriages, and children within Sikh Dharma through support, counseling, consultation, and resource location.
