Sikh Dharma of the Western Hemisphere has become a powerful and inspired vehicle to spread the light of Guru’s teachings to all those in need of guidance and upliftment in the face of the pressures and stresses of modern society. Many of the technologies and teachings of Sikh Dharma are universal and uniquely suited to helping people reclaim their spirituality, dignity and grace. As the doors of Harimandir Sahib are open to all and langar is served to the poor and needy, rich and powerful alike, so the Guru’s teachings may uplift humanity regardless of race, color or creed.

Many have come to our doors to be healed in body, mind and spirit, and by Guru’s grace have received sustenance on all levels. Many Punjabi Sikh families, both in the West and in India, have found the erosion of traditional values and the encroaching pressures of modern society to be a destructive influence on today’s Sikh youth. Sikh Dharma of the West, newly inspired and living the teachings with understanding and purpose, has offered inspiration and hope to many who are searching for clarity and meaning in their religion. Our work with Sikh youth groups, Sikh schools, Sikh Gurdwaras and communities throughout the world has been met with enthusiasm and received with gratitude. For many our devotional attitude and the purity of our Khalsa consciousness shine as a light in the darkness.

Our lifestyle, our Gurdwaras and our teachings are firmly based on the four pillars of bana, bani, simran and seva, with a conscious awareness and understanding of the value and technologies of the Guru’s teachings and practices. In the love of Guru, gratitude for His teachings, and with open hearts, we go forth as missionaries to rekindle the Light of Guru in the minds and hearts of his Sikhs and in the minds and hearts of any fellow human being searching for a lifestyle of consciousness and Truth.
