Dasvandh Takes Me To Paris!

Any dream, any goal, is possible when we maintain our connection to the Infinite through Dasvandh and through community donations. I have the blessing to give my tenth each month to Dasvandh through Electronic Funds Transfer.
Recently I set a goal to go to the Yoga Festival in Loches, France (near Paris). To go on this trip, I needed approximately $1,800 that was not in my current budget. I did my planning and found that I could fly round trip to Paris from Boston for $800. I could use frequent flier miles I had accumulated to fly round trip from Albuquerque to Boston. That meant that I needed the first $800 by the end of May to pay for my airline ticket.
I began scheming and realized that I could raise $500 through the sale of miscellaneous items, including an old computer. I could raise another $100 through teaching yoga classes, and I could save $200 from two months' salary. I had the money for my airline ticket!
The next task was raising $1,000 for lodging, food, gifts, and other expenses. I decided to make chocolate chip cookies to sell after Sunday Gurdwara, and I shared my dream of going to the Yoga Festival with everyone. Money began to come in from around the world to support this dream. One person bought a cookie for $20, another friend sent a check for $108, another for $54, another for $250, and so my fund continued to grow. The sales of cookies skyrocketed; I could not make them fast enough.
So, did chocolate chip cookies get me to the Yoga Festival in France? I don't think so. I think the blessings of the Guru through the sangat (holy congregation) allowed me to go on this wonderful trip. By giving Dasvandh every month, I believed in the power of giving and I believed in my dream. I never doubted for a moment that this trip would come to be. An option I never considered was to discontinue my Dasvandh and local community growth fund for five months. I knew that my dream would be fulfilled.
