Sharing the Technology of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation with All Sikhs
Sharing the Technology of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation with All Sikhs

By Guru’s grace it has been my privilege to share the teachings of Kundalini Yoga with our Indian sangat here for the last three years. As I look back, I can see how dramatically their participation has created change and growth.

The first year, our classes were held at the home of Doctor Saini. I think the accomplishment of that year was just that it happened consistently. We met weekly; we kept our routine. Toward the end of the year, the entire group went to a meditation course in Tucson taught by the Siri Singh Sahib. They started to develop a relationship with him as a teacher of technology.

Our goal for that year was for all to come to morning sadhana, and we did it. I remember the feeling of elation as all of us stood outside the atrium after sadhana; the purple Gurpurbh lights strung above, bathing us all in a magenta glow.

The second year’s class was held at the home of Dr. Punia. Interest had now spread beyond the small group that had started. I began to see changes in actual behavior. Members of the class were seriously reviewing and changing their lifestyle habits.

This last year, the change was dramatic. We moved the class to the ashram. We wanted to depersonalize the class and make it the Guru’s class. Now we have reached critical mass. The presence of all these people practicing is changing our sangat, making the relationship between Guru, yoga and meditation a relationship between three help mates serving the soul.
