2nd International Sat Nam Rasayan Course
Second International Sat Nam Rasayan Course
Hari Simran Kaur Khalsa
Los Angeles CA, U.S.A.

I arrived in Assisi with one hundred other people from Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, South America, Mexico, United States and Italy itself. The course was led by Guru Dev Singh formerly from Mexico, authorized for many years now by the Siri Singh Sahib to spread the practice of Sat Nam Rasayan as a healing modality, and to organize practitioners to be trained and certified in a standardized system. The experience of participation in this course opened up to us like a dream. We found ourselves in a tiny walled city unchanged since the Middle ages, overlooking the evergreen and rolling hills of Umbria Province in Italy. The intense vibration of prayer to be found there was infused in the 12th Century by the passion of St. Francis, who opposed the Crusades and proposed instead love, peace and vegetarianism, with special sentiment for birds and animals of the wild who came to St. Francis as his friends. Every stone of Assisi sings the song of the great saint’s heart, as do the sweetly loyal residents who have remained generation after generation within the walls of this refuge of St. Francis. Ever aware, the Sat Nam Rasayan Teachings were not lost on these natives; by the third day of the course some Assisians showed up at the course to inquire what we were about. They became our guests and later our patients. Also surprising was the hotel staff who treated us like ancient friends; one day in the hotel corridor I spoke with several chambermaids to comment on their kind service. They replied simply, "it’s from the heart."

The primary focus of our course this year was to develop the standardization for professionalism in Sat Nam Rasayan, called the second level. As more people are actually making a living using this technique, the discussion of how to approach the practice as a business has sparked a lot of interest. For many it has become a new vehicle for prosperity. In one year since the first conference in Assisi the fame of the technique has spread so rapidly that it was generally reported that the conference attendees of one hundred represented only one tenth of those actually learning and practicing. As you can imagine, the excitement in the course everyday was intense. Communication among us was enthusiastically constant; the translators went to work in four or five languages starting early in the morning and continued almost non-stop until at night. When at last we all parted, at the end of the course, it was with regret and many fond memories.

Of the many teachings regarding healing brought by the Siri Singh Sahib to the west, Sat Nam Rasayan is the only one that he has designated as a system to be standardized and certified. Guru Dev Singh of Rome, who is conducting the mission of Sat Nam Rasayan with great skill and sensitivity is also its most famous practitioner. He, along with his radiant wife and children have labored intensely to light the candle of Sat Nam Rasayan in the world of healing, according to the vision of the Siri Singh Sahib. "We've been given these teachings in an age of great and dire need in order to overcome the hypocrisy, the fears, the insecurities which had led to the demoralized values, the disrespect for life and living, and the loss of a harmony and unity to work together; so that we must establish the family in order to form the essential foundation for a spiritual nation to grow. All this we can do only by faith that His power does live in us."
