Kundalini Yoga: The heart chakra
Yoga set with pictures
Opening the heart chakra is one of the surest ways of understanding how to serve. With an open heart we are able to see and determine how our abilities best fit in a world of needs, how we can serve others in our highest capacity, while caring for ourselves as well.

Meditation to Open the Heart
Position: Sit in Easy Pose, with light jalandhar bandh, Neck Lock. To apply the Neck Lock, sit comfortably with spine straight; lift the chest and sternum upward, while at the same time, gently stretching the back of the neck by pulling the chin toward the back of the neck. The head stays level and centered, the muscles of the neck, throat and face remain loose and relaxed. Do not force the head forward or down.
Eyes: The eyes are closed, looking up, focusing at the Brow Point (third eye).
Mantra: The mantra is SAT KARTAAR chanted in three parts as follows:

As you say SAT, the hands are pressed together in Prayer Pose at the heart center.

As you say KAR, the hands are extended out from the shoulders, half-way towards the final position of outstretched arms, the fingers pointing straight up.

As you say TAAR, the arms are fully extended out to the sides and parallel to the floor, fingers pointing up, palms facing away from the body.
Make the transition from step to step a
flowing movement.
