Your strength and power is to handle tomorrow. All of my assets are with you, but I can’t eat your ego, which limits you and makes you small. For eight years I have been looking for my successor. I have to have a leader who is able to expand. Then I need guardians who, by virtue of their existence, will guard the wealth of the Khalsa, rather than their ego or their personal situation. The system should never fail the man. There are three disciplines that must be maintained: physical, mental, and financial.
I trust you that you will be flag bearers of tomorrow. All your personal and financial problems are because you do not care for your spiritual strength. You have wasted energy on petty things. Cut all that burns you out so that your light can keep burning forever.
Did you remember this morning to listen to the knock of death? That lonely child, your soul, has no one to comfort it. Your betrayal of that child is the worst thing I have seen in this world.
You can’t talk to the child because you can’t talk to the child in you. The child has fear because they know they will not get that extra protection provided by the mother. Understand the fundamental principle that the
child is a gift, and it needs values, virtues, and character. You can potty train a child physically, but if you don’t train him mentally and spiritually you must and shall suffer. The child wants to know how he can glow when he is grown. In service, business, life, friendship - in all of these, this is the root: everybody wants to grow, everybody wants to glow; some do it fast and some do it slow.
How many of you remember you are from egg and spermatozoa? How many remember the first innocent look of the child? This is how I start my day every day. How many of you thank the mother for her pure blood she turned to mother’s milk? Do you know how much debt you are carrying on your heads? If there is an attitude of gratitude, God is with you.
Those who have lost children, don’t worry. They will come back. There is no place to go. People’s position will not allow them to own their own psyche. Nervous systems will give up and chakras will not line up. At that time you will be needed to "Hail Guru Ram Das and heal the world." Cleverness will not come through. As long as you don’t compliment yourself, your environments, and your job, you will always be miserable. Complaints bring misery; compliments bring strength.
People will ask you to help and advise and uplift. There is no way you can play a game and carry the Name. Personality and grace are required. What brings grace to the personality is a person within the Nam.
If I do not serve today, tomorrow is not going to come through, and that’s what parents do. And that’s what you have to do. In the West, never rest. If you do not give spiritual values to your children, nobody can give them. If you do not show them, by your actions, harmony, humor, happiness, nobody can.
Children want security, and they have been told from day one that money is security, and that is how you lose them. The asset is children, not home or cars. You gave your child a car? Did you give him "Ek ong kaar"?
The Aquarian Age is "Give me the experience;" the Piscean Age was "Give me the knowledge." The kids have all the knowledge they need, but you shirk from the responsibility to give them the experience.
It is not you, your body, mind, or soul. It’s your legacy. Wherever you are, you are a Khalsa. We have to break the boundaries between national and international. Let’s go, glow, and save and serve others. Call on the Guru, and you will represent here and now the spirit of the Khalsa. Until you have the spiritual strength not to condemn anybody, stay where you are. What divides people is ego. The crown of spirituality can be bestowed; it can never be conquered. We have not yet lost anything; we have the absolute knowledge. We should have courage and manners to reach out and change our lifestyle. Widen your scope to run a lion’s race. The standard is set. You need longing to reach it. Try the way of love.
Talk to a child. Talk to a child’s spirit, which is you. Show the child tomorrow, and that there is no sorrow, or you will lose. Straight, simple, heart to heart is how you should talk to a child and that lonely child in you. Talk heart to heart to your soul for your tomorrow.
