Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan ®

Part 1
Position: Sit in Easy Pose or on a chair with a straight spine. Bring the hands to shoulder height at the sides, with the elbows by the ribcage. The thumb of each hand covers the pinky (mercury finger). Close your eyes and begin to rotate the hands in small circles at a very fast pace - three times per second. Continue for 7 minutes.



“When you get beyond your thoughts, your intuition gives you guidance. Move quickly. That's when poverty stops and prosperity starts, and life is really happy. You have been given light in your eyes to see the Light of God. You have been given ears to hear the Ecstasy of God. You have been given the tongue to speak the Glory of God. God is what created you. Be very loyal to yourself. Create a vacuum to be filled by prosperity.”

To end: Keeping the same position, inhale deeply, open your eyes. Holding the breath for 30 seconds, pull the shoulders back and the chest out as much as possible. Bend forward slightly and exhale. Repeat two more times, holding the breath 15 seconds each time.

Part 2
Position: Sit in Easy Pose or on a chair with a straight spine. With the palms flat and facing down, place the right hand over the left at the solar plexus just below the heart center. There is approx 1-2 inches inbetween the hands. In this position, close your eyes, and move the hands in quick, tight circles - three times per second. Breathe in and out through the mouth using Sitali Pranayam (breath) position:




The tongue is curled into a "U" shape, and protrudes slightly from the lips. Continue for 8 minutes.



To end: Inhale deeply. Hold the breath for 20 seconds while pulling the shoulders back tightly, and pulling the rib cage out as far as possible. Move forward slightly and exhale. Repeat two more times and move immediately into part three.

Part 3
Position: Still in Easy Pose or on a chair with a straight spine, bring the hands back to the heart center, parallel to the ground (elbows up) with palms facing down, the right hand resting on the left hand. Remain still with the eyes closed. Bring yourself to a state of absolute thoughtlessness - the path to prosperity, real happiness, and infinite wisdom. Continue for 15 minutes.



To end: Inhale deeply and hold the breath 15 seconds. Keeping the same position, pull the shoulders back and the chest out as much as possible. Bend forward slightly and exhale. Repeat two more times.

Part 4
Position: Still in Easy Pose or on a chair with a straight spine, rest the hands in the lap and chant using the tip of the tongue: “Har Singh Nar Singh Narayan” by Nirinjan Kaur (available from www.a-healing.com). Continue for 10 minutes.



To end: Inhale deeply, apply the shoulder lock, squeeze every fiber in the back. Hold 30 seconds, bend forward and relax.
