Dear Aunties And Uncles
Dear Aunties and Uncles,

My name is Manbir Singh. I am almost one and a half years old. My Papa and Momie were born in Kashmir, India. They were both raised in large family circles of devoted Sikhs, where no one cut their hair or became modern.

Before my parents were married, my Papa was forced to leave India. He was very active in setting up schools for children where they could learn kirtan and prayers; and organizing the Young Sikh Association. Because my Papa was, and is, such a good person, always did his banis and deeply believed in the Guru...some people forced him, after torturing him, to leave his home land, his mother, father, brothers, sisters, friends, and profession.

My Papa settled with a very nice family circle of American Sikhs in Phoenix. Their devotion and practices gave him hope. Eventually my parents’ marriage was arranged and my Momie came to also live in America.

Now it is seven years later, our home still is in the ashram community. I have a lot of Aunties and Uncles here, that love me very much. One of them gave me a video of Auntie Hari Kirn Kaur Khalsa leading celestial communications and singing "We are the Khalsa. Mighty Mighty Khalsa" and other great children’s songs. I love this video. Every day I watch it over, and over, and over, and over, again. I started watching it daily when I was nine months old. I cry if my Momie, Papa, or my big 4 year old sister don’t help me start the video.

There are so many modern things here in America. I hope I will be able to know the Guru like my Papa did, when he was young. So far, I only understand English. I am asking each of you, my Aunties and Uncles, "Can you make more videos, stories, books, and classes for little kids like me?" My heart is open and I want to keep my spirit strong - "Strong as Steel. Steady as Stone."
