Communities In The Making
Communities in the Making
M.S.S. S. Guru Amrit Kaur Khalsa
Secretary General of Sikh Dharma

Traveling with the Siri Singh Sahib from community to community around the world I experienced the forming of Khalsa in the West. Our common bonds of culture crossed into the habits we shared, foods we prepared, language we learned, songs we sang, and events we experienced. Within 25 years a miracle unfolded and Sikh Dharma rose in the West, beginning the fulfillment of Guru Gobind Singh’s prophecy that 960 million we would be.

As we enter the Age of Aquarius humanity faces transformation. It is a critical and crucial time for the planet. Our social, economic, political, and philosophical systems need prayer and vision to see us into a new age. Exploration into new methodology are rising to meet the intensity of the times. We, as the Sons and Daughters of Guru Gobind Singh, have a technology of mind, body and spirit. A technology and lifestyle that must be shared during this stressful and transitional period. We will do it. It is the desire of each of us to share the benefits of this lifestyle. Our success depends upon our collective experience and outreach as teachers, leaders and communities.

The dedication of sangat members who make it their life’s mission to build, serve and live within communities is a primary asset. To have an International family is a collective and priceless asset. This asset is what most of the world is either searching for, or attempting to recreate. How we build our communities and the leadership within them is essential to our growth and prosperity as a Dharma. Equally important is the commitment to planning our community development; therefore, planning our future. The value of the assets within our communities depend upon our ability to network and access our collective body as a community.

Serving within the local community, Administrative Council, Regional Council, or Khalsa Council is a valuable step toward realizing our purpose as Siblings of a Destiny. As the pioneers and the leadership body we will continue to manifest "Living and Spreading the Teachings." This offers a unique wake up call to all on our 25th Anniversary. Let us build a deep Dharmic foundation, drench ourselves in the spirit of the technologies, share lovingly within our communities, plan and develop our growth step by step and open our doors to serve humanity. The strength of our future lies in the strength of our communities.

God Bless you all,
MSS S Guru Amrit Kaur Khalsa
