Baisakhi 1994 Khalsa Council Meeting
Baisakhi l994 Khalsa Council Meeting
Santokh Singh Khalsa D.C.
Alta Dena CA, U.S.A.

This l994 Baisakhi meeting was the second of a group of four meetings starting October l993 and going to April, l995, focusing on the topic of "Living and Spreading the Teachings." During the previous meeting, the council divided into eight Strategic Action Teams or SAT’s, to work on various aspects of how we as a Khalsa Council can help to spread the teachings of Sikh Dharma and the Siri Singh Sahib. In the fall, each SAT completed the first step, which was to compose a statement to define its mission over the next two years.

During the Baisakhi meeting, the SAT’s worked to develop their primary goals, objectives and the action plan. Each SAT reviewed and revised their mission statement. Next, each group brain stormed various goals and objectives to fulfill their mission. This was discussed until the group could agree to focus on a few goals that would be doable with in the time frame of the next year and a half. Each group identified the resources and the action steps that would be necessary to reach their goals. On the last day of the meeting, each SAT reported on their work to the entire Khalsa Council, and then there was an opportunity for the different SAT’s to network with each other. Following is a description of the work being done by each SAT:
