Burden Of Tomorrow
Burden Of Tomorrow
Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan
Khalsa Council April 1998

You are not here by the will of a man, circumstances, or environments. You are here because you have your own covenant with God, and God has His own promise with each of you, individually. You shall serve or not, as God wills it. I have never taken, and will not take, any responsibility in this area. It is simply my honorable job to remind you what this means to you.

Tomorrow hordes of people, I repeat, hordes of people, will call upon you without even considering who you are. They don't care who you are. All they want to ask you is, "Please help me." Their depression will be so great, the intolerance of their nervous system will be so great, and their feeling of irritation and anger will be too much. There is nothing anybody can do about this; it is in the stars. Guru Gobind Singh said we shall be 960 million people, and they are going to come to you.

The only characteristic which we will have and should have is that we should hang in there as blessed people; just be there as blessed people. Students will always find their teacher. You as teachers don't have to find them, and you don't have to be popular. A teacher is a teacher when the priority of their life is just to be a teacher.

You who took upon yourself the title of "Khalsa" must deeply understand that identity is your purity, your piety, your touch, your words, your hearing capacity, your talking capacity. You must uplift a person.

I think my definition of spirituality is one which the theologians will never agree with, and the saints and angels will never agree with, but I don't give a hoot if the whole world doesn't agree. All I know is that when you drop your problem and solve somebody else's problem, that is spirituality. When I can give my head, no matter what it is used for, because I feel it is needed to meet the test of time and space of some brother, sister, friend, or stranger, that is the state of fearlessness. If we have no fear, and we don't intend to have fear, then we can reach out with good intention, purity and piety. I feel God is equally bound by the state of purity of a human. When union happens between a human and God, and that understanding comes, and you invoke your own spirit, the entire universe will come through.

Can you believe these five sounds, Ang Sang Wa-he Guru? In every limb, God is. When that understanding prevails in a human, they become a healer, they become the greatest shaman of their time, they can talk about all the knowledge of God and they are called Brahm Gyani.

People care about only one thing; that you look special. You gave your head to get this dress called bana. When you are in the perfect radiance and glory of bana, it affects others who see you, and they know that this person is not for sale. That is an eighty percent victory. When you speak and uplift people, that's another ten percent, which brings you to ninety percent. When you really sincerely try to help and you deliver, that brings you to one hundred percent. Finally when you thank God after that for giving you that opportunity, that's another two hundred fifty percent.
Things have gone from bad to worse, and worse to the worst, but we are talking of tomorrow. Tomorrow your personal problems have to not be your priority. People's problems have to be the priority.

Dhan dhan raam daas gur, jin siriaa tinai savaari-aa. Pooree ho-ee karaamaat, aap sirajanhaarai dhaari-aa.
"Great, great is Guru Ram Das. Those who have served, be with them. Sovereign on that, the unisonness of cleanliness, Godliness." With an understanding of that first line, all miracles shall happen.

Aap sirajanhaarai dhaari-aa.
"The One God who has created us, will personify Himself."

You have that blessing, and you have come from that code of divinity. Your problem is your absolutely rewritten destiny.

Paihle banee praalabdh, paachhe banio sareer.
"First the destiny is determined, and then the body is formed."

You have been given your destiny first, and the body has been given to you later. You have to make a mark in the legacy of time and space. Join with me in a very simple way. With all your problems, close your eyes and just hear that somebody called you today. He gave you a call, not to your body, not to your mind, but to your soul. He said, "Come." He said, "Come and meet me at Anandpur." About 85-90,000 of you participated; you made it. Five out of you came when He asked for a head. That was a day of challenge, and you stood that challenge one by one. Think of Bhai Daya Singh who went first, and then there was a second, third, fourth, and fifth, and each time they saw a bleeding sword.

You stood the test of time. It was just a gracious test to understand that the impossible doesn't exist for you. Then with his own hands, He decorated you. With His own heart, He adopted you, and with His own strength and courage, He shared with you the legacy of tomorrow. That is how you came to be on this planet.

It is not a religion of a man or a philosophy; it is a religion of those who put their head on their hands, and walk on, making the way for others to follow. It is a process in which you, by your example of purity and your trust in the oneness of yourself and God, you have found the grace of God with you, and God is with your every limb, every shred. If you understand in technological terms that you have thirty trillion micro cells through which God is dancing with them, and you are part of that dance, you will not only be prosperous, happy and gracious, you'll find everything comes to you as it should be, and it must be, and it can be.

Remember on this earth, see and imagine the entire planet earth. Mother earth and mother nature, ready to serve you. Because they want to please his most exalted son, Guru Gobind Singh, and his family. You are called, "Umath Khalsa." The strength of purity which will multiply in many bodies and many wheres and shall grow into the essence of life. This essential of life will be for you forever.

Kar ishnaan simar parabrahm, ant paaiaa rogaa.
"Get up in the ambrosial hour, take your ishnaan, bath, and then meditate with your God, and your mind and soul will be free, healthy, and without disease."

Give your worries, your discomforts, your calamities to the Guru, and walk with comfort, grace and easiness. The future for you is very evident. It is classified. It is destined. It is prophesied. The prophet has already said and spoke. Remember your identity as a Khalsa is pure, is perfect.
