Sikh Dharma Ministry
By Gurunater Kaur Khalsa, Espanola
Assistant to the Ministry

There are some very exciting projects emerging in the area of the Ministry. Through the coordinated efforts of many dedicated ministers, some ideas and dreams for the Sikh Dharma Ministry are manifesting. Ministers gave their input on what kinds of training they wanted and topics for discussion. Based on this information and input from the Khalsa Council, a lot of the following projects are being developed.

Beginning in March and continuing through the year, some incredible Sikh Dharma courses will be taught on a bridge line. The VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY for Sikh Dharma is up and running and will include inspiring teachers, teaching on a broad range of topics. “The History and Naad of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib” taught by SS Siri Sevak Kaur, will be March 28th, 8:00 to 9:00pm East Coast time. “The Ethics of the Warrior Saint” taught by SS Shanti Kaur will be April 25th, 7:00 to 9:00pm East Coast time. Once a person registers, they are given the bridge line phone number to call. As soon as everyone calls in, the class begins. You can be in any time zone in North America, and in the near future we hope to include the international community. Register now for these and other upcoming classes.

A Minister’s Chat Line is also beginning this Spring on the bridge line. Once a month we’ll discuss one of the top ten topics ministers have been wanting to

talk about. We’ll host a different teacher for each of the 1-½ hour discussions. For March through December the cost is $110.

We have two more months left of our pilot program for the Minister’s Training Program on the bridge line. It is a six month course which is held every two weeks, for two hours. The program is based on the book “Victory and Virtue” and has a different minister presenting a topic. There is homework of a thought-provoking and exploratory nature which has deeply affected each student.

The next Minister’s Training Program begins this September and costs $180. People are encouraged to take this course, if they want training in Sikh Dharma. It is for ministers who want a detailed review course, or for anyone who is aspiring to become a minister. These classes are incredibly inspiring and impactful. Everyone - from (new) yoga students, to long-time community folks, to ministers are raving about it.
